UVTO Women Present the Third Annual Fashion Show
October 7 Catalina Hall 12 P.M.
Fall is a time of inspiration. We eagerly anticipate new seasons of the symphony, the theater, lecture series and the resumption of social/community activities. Nature, too, provides stimulation in rich warm-hued flowers and bright yellow-and-maroon leaved trees even here in the Conejo Valley.
For the women of UVTO, the exhilaration of fall centers on the fashion show and its revelation of new designs. This year Kevin Kelly graciously returns to present a Fall Fantasy from Draper's and Damon's Camarillo store for our...

The UVTO softball team is just tearing up the Friday night Coed League. At 5-1 we are in sole possession of 1st place! What's more we have generated a lot of resident fan participation! Says Ryan Exline, Executive Director of UVTO, "When we came up with the idea for a team we had no idea we would be having this level of success. Also, seeing the resident interest has been awesome – I can only imagine what the other teams must be thinking when they see the crowds with banners and ample amounts of Cracker Jack coming out to watch...

HISTORY: The year 2008 was an active year at UVTO, ushering in the founding of several clubs and organizations including the UVTO Women’s Club. Barbara Marshall, now deceased, was the original Chairperson; she formatted the club as it remains today. Micky Kurzeka succeeded her as Chairperson. Through her leadership, the club undertook fundraising projects as it moved forward and continued to grow. Micky appointed Sally Allen in January of 2010 to become Chairperson. Among other things, Sally’s mission has been to provide a book of biographies of all UVTO women. With help from board members,...

Tennis, anyone?
Two and a half years ago, four of us at U.V.T.O. responded affirmatively and enthusiastically to the challenge above. We car-pooled to the slightly shabby public courts on Moorpark Road until our own private court was complete. Though unavoidably set on a wrong axis, the location and design of the court was lovely. The unique "openness", set above the ball-devouring ravine, was soon remedied without detracting from its original pleasing design.
Counting Ernie, Warren and Scott as honorary members, the club now numbers 14, and one more on the way (which villa shall we demolish...

Fun, games, enlightenment, entertainment. For participation and observation, these are the pleasures provided by the UVTO Activities Department. Did you know that the majority of on-campus programs and the excursions beyond the gates are the result of resident suggestions? With the broad range of interests among our people, the resources of southern California can be explored and made available to those who crave...well, the Committee Procedures define the task this way: "To recommend to the Activities Director a wide variety of social, creative, athletic and cultural activities for the residents of University Village."
Understanding that the Activities Director and her staff...
First impressions are lasting impressions, and the Hospitality Committee uses early visits with new residents to offer a warm welcome, lots of information and some practical support as new residents move into University Village.
On moving day, a committee member leaves a map of University Village, a Welcome to Our Community card and a Hospitality calling card. A phone call follows, then a visit in which the new resident receives a Hospitality bag overflowing with information about UV communication and services, the library and the store; opportunities at Cal Lutheran University; and contacts for
resources in Thousand Oaks and the surrounding area....
